Ortelius’ Septentrionalium was the model for a map attributed to Sebastian Münster but published by Sebastian Petri. The map, titled Gemeine beschreibung aller Mitnächtigen Länder […], was published in 1588 in Cosmography. It is quite detailed and well made, considering that it was done using the woodcut technique. The map can be said to be faithful copy of Ortelius, down to the pigmei and Frisland. The lasting influence of Zeno can be seen not just in Frisland, but also in the other islands scattered about the North Atlantic.
