Seawonders and rare animals, as can be found in the midnight lands, translates the title, the midnight lands being the far north. This is not a map but still interesting to map collectors as it is very relevant to many maps. It is from Munsters Cosmographia. The creatures come mostly from Olaus Magnus and some are to be found on many maps. It is particularly relevant for Ortelius’ Islandia as he seems to have used Munster’s Seewonder as model for some of the creatures.
