Matthias Quad (1557–1613) was an engraver and cartographer from Cologne. Quad collaborated with the Cologne publisher Johann Bussemacher and many of his maps are credited to them together. They started publishing an atlas of European countries in 1592 and in 1596 a map of Iceland, based on Ortelius was published. Quad also published some maps under the pseudo name Conrad Loew.
